About the Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The new-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class debuted in September last year. It is a car with an aerodynamic exterior kit, apparently standard, which contains chrome inserts on the bumpers, side sills, retractable handles, and door frames.
To find out that the new S-Class started to be developed as early as 2015. One of the interesting features of the chassis is the extensive use of unified nodes and components.
Three dimensions of the wheelbase will remain and are confirmed (short sedan, elongated sedan (Long), and Maybach). Unlike the current W222 series models with all three wheelbase sizes, this size on the W223 series models will be exactly 40 mm larger! Mercedes-AMG and Guard armored cars will continue to be available with all-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The main engines with six and eight cylinders will remain electrified, and a novelty will be a plug-in hybrid model that will be able to ensure an electric range of up to 100 km.
Another novelty would be that the new S-Class will keep and continue to use the V12 engine, although previously it was believed that the W222 will be the last generation to have it! However, the Germans did not make a new one but will use the current one with three valves per cylinder, most likely easily adapted to cope with the new pollution rules.
The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will not have a fully electric version. The place of such a car will be taken in the range of the new EQS, an electric car that will debut in 2021!
The latest generation S-Class from car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz comes with carpet made of an innovative material – Econyl. It is based on the concept of the circular economy and is made of nylon waste. According to the company, over 98 kg of S-Class car components are made of materials that conserve the planet’s resources, and another 40 kg of renewable raw material, double the previous model.
The development process of Mercedes-Benz cars starts from the beginning from the premise of using as much as possible environmentally friendly materials, and sustainability aspects are taken into account from the concept phase.
How much is the Mercedes-Benz S-Class?
The base price of $110,850 is up by more than $15,000, although 4Matic all-wheel drive is now standard across the board.
